All Black

black outfit - leather skirt and polo neck top

Head to toe black is always a safe bet and mixing textures gives the look more depth and a less "boring" attitude. It seems this leopard can't completely

change it's spots...

Pyjama Dressing – Round 2

beatrice trodden - silk pyjama top and white jeans

Pyjamas are no more relegated to sleep time and are a more than acceptable sartorial choice for stepping out at any time of the day. Luxurious, relaxed and comfy - check, check and check. What isn't there to love about the all day pajama look?  I'm officially declaring myself part of the yes camp!

Socks + Pumps

grey ribbed socks with Rizzo pumps

Best winter combo? Socks in pumps! Yes, forget about the (quite frankly cringe worthy) image of dads with white sport socks pulled up to their knees in sandals on holiday... This is a winning combo. Just wait until new years when I pull out my silver sparkly par. No joke.

Do I wear a lot of black? Yes! Too much? Maybe. Do I wear a lot of prints? Not really. Unless you count stripes, which we won't as that's almost as basic as a black top. Since moving back to Stockholm I suddenly became very aware of how much black everyone wears. All day, everyday. Look down from the top of a hill and in winter and it just looks like a thick dark mass slowly moving through the streets. Now I'm not going to say I'm swearing off black, I won't and I don't want to. However, I have been making more of a conscious effort to subtly work more prints in to my outfits and to try and wear at least one outfit a week without any black in it (shoes don't count). So far so good!

Beatrice Trodden outfit with camel top and & Other Stories pencil skirt and horse bit loafers

Three simple steps to create a contemporary take on a ladylike outfit. Take a wrap pencil skirt with obligatory slit, add a slouchy camel knit and finish off the look with a pair of horsebit loafers (inspiration via Gucci, actual shoes via vintage market).
