Lather, Rinse, Repeat

Quality makes a difference. That's probably one of the main lessons I've learned as an adult. At least in terms of beauty and fashion. It's noticeable when a garment is well made, the stitching the quality of fabric etc. Beauty and hair care product make just as much of an impact on appearance but also how your hair and skin feels. I'm not going to pretend that I know much about the actual ingredients and chemical make up of such products – but I know what works for me. Well, I'm at least starting to figure it out.

A while ago I had a conversation with some friends about beauty products and the concept of finding "the one". The one perfect day cream, mascara, cleanser and so on. I've typically not been particularly loyal to any one product – apart from Max Factor's 2000 Calorie mascara, but even we have parted ways now. But having tried and tested many different brands in the last couple of years, going on expert opinions and opting for a slightly higher end products, sometimes natural ingredients and so on, I've started to notice the difference and am well on my way to my perfect collection.

In terms of hair care specifically I've always struggled to find a shampoo that really makes my hair feel and look as good as I want it to. This summer, however, I found one, maybe one of "the ones" – Swedish eco brand Björk & Berries shampoo and conditioner are amazing! Continuing the search, I recently got the chance to try another Swedish favourite, professional haircare brand SACHAJUAN's new shampoo and conditioners. Another aha-moment was had. They do cost a bit more than the average supermarket options, but they last so much longer, a small amount really goes a long way. Bonus? The SACHAJUAN normalizing shampoo is optimised for sensitive scalps (which is great) so doesn't have a scent, the moisturising one on the other hand, will make your hair smell like you've come straight from the salon.
