Pretty in Pink

Yes, that is a pink sweater (more so in real life, promise), and yes that is me wearing it and finally yes, I have long refused to wear pink because it's too sweet and girly. So I changed my mind. In the words of Britney "it's my prerogative". Maybe it's just proof of how easily influenced I am, there was a fair amount of pink on the runways for spring and I suddenly found myself loving it.

However, a distinctly non girly approach needs to be taken. At least for me personally. Simple pieces with a non fussy feel is the way forward. Preferably met with a matching look of simple clean cut garments and maybe a touch of denim. On a side note, burgundy with pink is a great colour combination.

Preparations are in full swing. Tickets and hotel are booked for Copenhagen, outfits are planned and I'm almost completely packed. So organised! On Wednesday it's off to Copenhagen Fashion Week, but first its Stockholm turn. Two more sleeps until fashion madness begins!

Polo Neck Obsession

trending: poloneck sweaters

One of my biggest obsessions this season (and yes I will go as far as to say it's an obsession) are polo neck tops. Chunky, slim, and in any color. The versatility is endless and as a layering piece it couldn't be better. Sweaters will be getting a lot of company from thin polo necks and for nigh time a strappy top or dress get a stylish upgrade layered over the top.

Klick Your Heels

Burgundy Patent Guess Boots

Maybe it was my first encounter with The Wizard of Oz that started it. Or maybe it was the black shiny patent "party" shoes I got to wear as a kid whenever fancier events where on the schedule. Ie NOT when running around the garden in wet grass and mud... (sorry mum). Regardless, red shoes and shiny shoes (preferably a combination of the two) have always been a not so secret obsession of mine. You can imagine my delight when Dior brought them down the runway for autumn/winter 2015. Cue me trawling online to find a pair in my (unfortunately) non-Dior budget.

The result of my treasure hunt were these burgundy, shiny babies from Guess. And I'm pretty smug about them too. They are delightfully glossy and the heel is the perfect walking height. Yep you heard it - good looking AND I can walk in them. Ha! A totally justified shoe purchase.
